For those that were unaware, Konami recently ran a players vote contest to see what the newest OCG structure deck would be in November 2020. Players from ALL over the world logged in to vote for one of 10 different archetypes to get a new deck and support this fall.
The latest results from our friends at Beyond the Duel which show Cyber Style on top.
We should get official confirmation of these results by June 30th 2020.
The speculation and wish lists are going WILD in the forums and on face book pages. Players are wanting a powerbond searcher, cyber dragon draw support (don’t see this happening), cyber dragon counter traps, level 3 cyber dragon(s), synchro cyber dragon(s), new cyber links (link 1 & link 4 are the most popular) even a cyber dragon field spell.
The Image used for voting showed both a Cyberdark Dragon and a Cyber End Dragon. So, it is ONLY logical to assume the new deck will include support that melds the two decks in some way. If Konami can manage to create their cards in such a way that would allow you to build separate archetype decks with the new support AND build a deck that fuses the two archetypes together that would be absolutely AMAZING. The Cyberdark archetype got shafted honestly and would GREATLY benefit from ANY support.
Personally I feel this would also be a GREAT opportunity to revamp and introduce updated versions of older cyber cards such as Cyber Laser Dragon, Cyber Barrier Dragon & Proto Cyber Dragon. Updating these once powerful and sought after cards for modern play (maybe with Laser and Barrier as synchro monsters and Proto as a tuner) could give Cyber Dragons that boost of power and versatility they have been after to finally break the threshold from rogue deck status to tier 2 or even tier 1 deck status.
The possibilities are there for some AMAZING support for 2 great archetypes. Guess we will have to wait until November to see what direction they decided to go in. Lets let the excitement and anticipation build and our imaginations go WILD!!
