This years Commander 2019 precon decks are nearly upon us and the spoilers have started flowing forth whetting our appetites for some new strategies to play with.
One of the more interesting legendary creatures that have caught my attention has been K’rrik, Son of Yawgmoth.
K’rrik will be an absolute game changer for any deck that fields predominantly black cards from their deck. His ability changing all Black mana costs into phyrexian life mana costs will supply a HUGE advantage when casting ANY of your spells. On top of that he gets larger for EVERY SINGLE black spell you cast. Balanced ONLY by a seven mana cost (or four mana and six life) I expect to see a lot of this card, if not in the command zone most definintely tucked into the recesses of some sinister decks.
Another creature that has caught my eye was Pramikon, Sky Rampart.
Controlling who EVERYONE in the game can attack ant turning it from a free-for-all to a focused assault is a HUGE advantage. In a Jeskai control deck this will easily become a staple in deck of not right in the command zone allowing you to focus down your opponents one by one dropping them like dominos in a chain before you.
The last card I wanted to mention isn’t a legendary creature/commander. Instead it is a POWERFUL spell to foil your opponent’s plans. Leadership Vacuum.
ANY deck that runs blue will most likely be running a copy of this beauty. Instant speed, card draw, commander elimination. It is an immensely powerful spell that can cripple your opponent’s strategy and lead you to victory. For ONLY three mana I see this one becoming a staple in A LOT of decks.
Check back soon as we look at more cards being spoiled for the Commander 2019 decks AND the upcoming Throne of Eldraine.
