Here we are for another sneek peek into the inner workings of the Cyber Style Successor structure deck and these new cards look promising. Lets not waste any time and dive right in and take a look at the lastest tidbits to fall out of the spoiler bag. A big thank you, in advance, to our friends at YGOrganization.com for translating this information for us.
SD41-JP001 アタッチメント・サイバーン Attachment Cybern
Level 3 LIGHT Dragon Effect Monster
ATK 1600
DEF 800
You can only use the 3rd effect of this card’s name once per turn.
(1) You can target 1 Dragon or Machine “Cyber” monster you control; equip this card from your hand or field to that target.
(2) A monster equipped with this card gains 600 ATK.
(3) If this card equipped to a monster is sent to the GY: You can target 1 other Dragon or Machine “Cyber” monster in your GY; Special Summon it.
At first glance this card may appear to be nothing more than another lackluster cog in the Cyberdark Legacy… it is anything but lackluster. Attachment Cybern fills a critical role and function within the new support structure by not only synergizing with the existing Cyberdark dragon creatures but also by being a KEY component in using the Cybernetic Horizon card previously spoiled (see our previous article here).
lets take another look at the main ability of Cybernetic Horizon and why it is so important:
“Send two dragon and/or machine “cyber” monsters with different attributes (light, dark, ect) to the graveyard (one from your hand and the other from the deck), add one dragon or machine “Cyber” monster from your deck to your hand, and if you do, send one machine “Cyber” Fusion Monster from your extra deck to the graveyard.”
This card was the missing component to make Cybernetic Horizon work while still possessing the needed synergy to work with the rest of the deck.
Next up is the spell card Eternal Cyber.
SD41-JP022 エターナル・サイバー Eternal Cyber
Quick-Play Spell Card
You can only use the 1st and 2nd effects of this card’s name once per turn each.
(1) Target 1 Machine “Cyber” Fusion Monster in your GY; either return it to the Extra Deck or Special Summon it, ignoring its Summoning conditions.
(2) If a Machine “Cyber” Fusion Monster(s) you control would be destroyed by battle or effect, you can banish this card from your GY instead.
This quick play spell card will be shaking a few foundations depending upon its wording in the TCG when released.
The first ability is nothing short of SPECTACULAR! Target one Machine “Cyber” Fusion Monster in your graveyard; either return it to the extra deck or special summon it, IGNORING ITS SUMMONING CONDITIONS. Yes you read that correctly, ignoring summoning conditions.
So if we manage to get our Cyber End Dragon, Cyberdark Dragon or dare we dream the Cyberdark End Dragon in the graveyard we can now special summon this beast to our field for little to no effort.
This card currently is a “Cyber” spell card and is searchable by Cyber Dragon Core which would allow us to get access to it whenever we need it.
As if the first ability wasnt enough, they added an amazing protection ability for us to enjoy once we have this card in the graveyard. If a Machine “Cyber” Fusion Monster(s) you control would be destroyed by battle or effect, you can banish this card from your graveyard instead.
We get to special summon ignoring conditions AND we enjoy a Return of the Dragon Lords protection for our “Cyber” Machine Fusion boss monsters.
This card, as amazing as it is, is still vulnerable to Ghost Bell, D.D. Crow and any other forms of graveyard disruption. It is not unstoppable, but still a SOLID addition to the Cyberdark Legacy.
My overall opinion of these two cards are really positive and welcome additions to the deck that should aid in catapulting Cyberdark Dragon decks into rogue status like its Cyber Dragon cousins. At least we can hope it will.
Keep an eye out for future spoilers .
As always stay safe. Keep brewing and theory crafting.
